Drew Wilkins

Drew Wilkins, LGPC
Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Individual Therapy

Drew serves clients of all ages and backgrounds and is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the State of Maryland.  After almost two decades of developing people in their spiritual knowledge and character as a pastor, Drew shifted to therapeutic counseling.  He now serves those within his own cultural context and cross culturally, striving to meet people exactly where they are in their story and for exactly who they are, helping them to set and pursue goals for growth according to their own systems of values and beliefs. He knows the courage it takes to process one’s story of trauma and walks gently with you within a therapeutic relationship.

Foundationally, Drew believes in fostering a strong therapeutic alliance for his clients to be known and heard, able to choose and act.  Drew works as a trauma informed therapist and integrates various treatment methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Logotherapy, ensuring client led and evidence-based treatment.  Drew has a background working with anxiety, mood disorders, spiritual and religious abuse, adjustment to disabilities (for individuals and caretakers), and trauma work with adolescents and adults.  He also deeply appreciates the unique benefits that both individual and group therapy can offer.

Drew earned a Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Maryland, a Masters Degree in Counseling as well as a Masters Degree in Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary, and has completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Messiah University.  He also stays actively engaged in continuing education resources to refine and develop his skills.

Drew was married in 2005, and has six children, two of whom have special needs, and one of whom was adopted. Drew loves the outdoors, finding beauty in all of life, drawing, and longboarding.
