The professionals at The Counseling Center of Maryland® use a variety of techniques to help improve the quality of life for individuals, couples, groups, and families. We work with children, adolescents and adults. Through our strength-based and collaborative approach, we offer new insights that enable our clients to see things from different perspectives. We provide treatment and counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation issues, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and parenting. Through active and evidence based strategies we help empower our clients to make choices that evoke positive changes in their lives.
Together, we will look at feelings, thoughts, sensations, and behaviors as vehicles to affirmative change. All of our clinicians have obtained the gold standard of advanced, evidence-based training within their areas of expertise, and each brings a unique perspective to our team. Some of the specialties within our practice include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Process Groups, Psychodynamic Work, Gottman Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness.
The Counseling Center of MarylandTM also offers multiple modalities of group therapy. Often, when we think of group therapy, we envision "support groups," but this image fails to portray the real power of group therapy. Research shows that group therapy can be equally — if not more — effective than individual therapy in helping clients achieve their goals. While all of our groups do provide a supportive environment, our true focus in group therapy is empowerment and change. Please visit our Group Therapy page to learn more.
