Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) with over 25 years of clinical experience. She works with individuals, couples, & families. Mary works with clients struggling with life cycle transitions, work/life balance, relationship issues, separation/divorce, mood disorders, dual diagnosis, failure to launch, and parenting. She also addresses grief, trauma, ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
Mary’s therapeutic approach includes Psychodynamic, Family Systems, CBT, Eclectic, DBT, Short Term Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. In addition to her work with clients, Mary enjoys providing psycho-educational workshops for the community.
Mary specializes in treating addictions including Substance Use Disorders & Process Addictions (Gambling, Codependency, Computer/Internet/Gaming). As a Recovery Specialist, Mary provides expertise in referring to community resources for recovery related needs (substance abuse, gambling, internet, codependency).
Mary earned her BA in Psychology at Glassboro State College in 1986 and her Masters at the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 1994 with a Concentration in Clinical/ Administration and a Specialization in Occupational/EAP. Mary’s expertise in the Employee Assistance and Addiction fields include providing consultation and clinical services (assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual, group and family therapy, case management, CISD, supervisory trainings, psycho-educational workshops and referral) to a variety of businesses to include US Airways during 9/11, Westinghouse, Hospital for Sick Children during Y2K, North Arundel Health Systems, Baltimore County Public Schools, and several other EAP companies.
Mary has continued to expand her clinical skills working with a wide variety of clients in diverse settings at a community mental health center, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment centers, a maximum security prison, hospitals, and, most recently, at a behavioral healthcare setting as a Substance Abuse Therapist/Family Program Specialist providing assessments, diagnosis, individual, group, and family therapy on the outpatient and inpatient child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatric units and partial hospitalization programs. She is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
