Group Therapy: The Professional Series

The Professional Series was designed for individuals that feel ready to have change in their lives. This change can come in a variety of forms, both internal and external. The key factor is change. The purpose of this group is NOT to share problems and simply console one another. Of course, problems will be shared, and support will be provided. The emphasis, however, is breaking ongoing cycles and doing something different. True change is obtained in small incremental steps.

This group has two functions. It will serve as a skill-building group, and as a process group. Skills addressed will come from empirically proven methods including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, the works of Tara Brach, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Marsha Linehan, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield,Thich Nhat Hanh, Adyashanti, Donald Altman, Michael Singer, and Brene Brown, among others. The process group will develop into a microcosm (miniature version) of your everyday life. The group will give each member a chance to experience a variety of feelings and reactions to those feelings in a safe environment.
