Claudia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Parent Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT). She provides individual, group and family therapy. Claudia has over five years’ experience working with adults and children facing depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and relationship challenges. She specializes in working with children ages 3 to 8 years old with behavioral concerns by focusing on strengthening attachment and coaching parents on setting healthy limits.
Claudia’s therapeutic approaches include CBT, TF-CBT, Theraplay, Sand and Play Therapy. She utilizes attachment theory and believes that the therapeutic process should be client-centered. In addition to her clinical work Claudia has presented workshops on the parent-child relationship at the Expressive Therapies Summit in New York as well as the Mid-Atlantic Play Therapy Conference in the District of Columbia.
Claudia is fluent in Spanish. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Science and her MSW at the University of Maryland, Baltimore with a concentration on children and family. Claudia has over ten years’ experience working in community mental health and feels passionate about providing culturally competent services to a diverse population.
