Jeremy is licensed in Maryland, DC and Virginia. Jeremy works with adults 18 and up, including undergraduate and graduate students, lawyers, physicians, and government and private-sector professionals. Jeremy is available for short- and long-term individual therapy, couples therapy, and career counseling. He works primarily from a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) perspective and also incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and humanistic theories. Jeremy believes a strong therapeutic relationship is a key ingredient for meaningful change. His style is transparent and direct and finds humor can play an important role in the therapeutic process.
His clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, major life transitions adjustment difficulties and substance abuse. Jeremy also works at Kolmac Outpatient Recovery in Washington, DC, where he provides intensive outpatient care to people dealing with both the acute and chronic issues of drug and alcohol addiction, including any underlying mental health problems.
Before earning his Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland and becoming a psychotherapist, Jeremy practiced law for more than 15 years, holding positions in the federal government, a Fortune 500 company and an Am Law 100 firm. Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including running, cycling, skiing, scuba diving, and occasionally sitting still.
