Anthony Nogueira, LGPC, NCC
Anthony Nogueira received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School for Professional Psychology in 2019. He has an extensive background in mental health, having worked with populations including college students, older adults, international citizens, adolescents with developmental disabilities, and low-income/in-need individuals. Additionally, Anthony has helped clients address concerns relating to depression, grief, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma.
Anthony’s approach to counseling is rooted in dynamic theory, as he helps clients to reflect and explore inner thoughts and feelings in order to bring them to the surface so that they can be addressed. He believes in acknowledging how one’s past impacts their present lifestyle through learned patterns of thoughts and behavior, and works with his clients to reinforce their capacity for adaptation and self-empowerment as they move into the future. In addition to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space in which the client can be met with empathic, positive support, Anthony uses a combination of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and existential techniques to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.
